Julia is a seasoned fine art specialist with over 15 years of experience in the Canadian art market.

She graduated from Brentwood College School in Mill Bay, followed by two years of undergraduate studies in Art History at the University of Western Ontario before completing her Bachelor’s of Fine Art (Honours) in Art History at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

Julia’s career in the arts started with an internship through ADAC at LindaLando Fine Art in Kerrisdale, where she was able to work with many wonderful contemporary artists, and also learn about the secondary market through the sale of historical Canadian works.

From there, Julia expanded her knowledge of Northwest Coast art through a position at artist-owned Edzerza Gallery. She then continued her work with contemporary and historical Canadian art at Granville Fine Art, located on the busy corner of Granville & Broadway in Vancouver.

In 2014, Julia joined Heffel Fine Art Auction House in Vancouver.  She spent 10 years at Canada’s leading auction house, securing consignments for live and online auctions, leading private sale initiatives for represented artists and estates, developing client connections and providing leadership and support to the national team. At Heffel Julia responded to hundreds of free online appraisal requests and worked on many appraisals for insurance, donation, fair market value and estate planning purposes.

Drawing on her background with leading galleries and auction houses, Julia provides reliable, transparent, and customized appraisal services for collectors, estates, institutions, and galleries.
